Dedicated to L.M., who makes me feel less crazy
and encouraged me to step out of my box.
Living on my own for 2 weeks was cool and I ended up observing my patterns and behaviors, one of them being what kinds of things I relied on. So here are some shoutouts to inanimate objects, left to right.
Shoutout to the dishwasher scrubbie my mom gave me! My mom has been knitting square scrubbies all throughout quarantine and they work wonders - way better than a sponge. They also dry super fast. And this one made my think of my mom. :) Shoutout to instant coffee and the mug! My family and I are spoiled by drip coffee (method influenced heavily by my dad) and I hadn't drank instant coffee in a while. But it was delightful with Trader Joe's creamer and sugar and I had a whole lot of coffee and tea throughout my time in Connecticut. *Tangent and not something necessarily to be proud of, but only dined out for meals twice. Most of my outside purchases were on desserts or beverages. I got a caffeinated beverage from six places, oops! My favorite was a latte with pumpkin syrup from Willoughby's. I usually don't care for pumpkin flavoring, but theirs was good! Shoutout to rubber bands and twist ties! These became essential when sealing up both fresh and frozen food... all from Trader Joe's. Shoutout to that yellow book on Chinese history! It became my makeshift laptop stand. I leafed through it and it had great pictures. Shoutout to that cozy blanket! I got cold here and there and found this blanket in the closet. It made me feel warm. As it should. Definitely some other honorable mentions, but I can't think of them now. But yah, #riptheclip. Still sad about that.
