Here are some #instagramaf pictures I took at Versailles today! Today's post will be more show, less tell, with some commentary here and there. For context, I got brunch with my hostelmate, traveled to Versailles, explored the gardens via bike, ate beef bourguignon at a small shop, climbed up stairs to see Sacré-Couer, and walked a little through Montmartre. Enjoy! (Click the pictures to enlarge them!) FOOD: Holybelly 5, got me some sweet stacks, hashbrown, and a London fog. My stomach was indeed sanctified. RANDOM POSTER: Tried looking it up to no avail, probably because of the underscore. TRAVEL: RER C to Versailles. There's the station. VERSAILLES: Really gorgeous and really worth the trip over. I actually decided to not enter the palace, which led me to think about why I didn't want to climb the Eiffel Tower or see the Mona Lisa at the Louvre. I guess I like to take the road less traveled? I find it more fun (and perhaps valuable) to stray away from more popular things and either opt for a different angle or visit lesser known places. The palace, Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and others are definitely amazing attractions though! No disrespect. Anyway, I walked and biked throughout the gardens. Almost got lost a couple of times, but that kinda made it more fun (ish). Great weather too. FOOD: Le Cabanon de la Butte, had rich beef bourguignon, mashed potatoes, and bread. Was delicious, I ate too much. I included the very edited interior shot of the restaurant because I found it funny that I was seated right in front of a mirror and was reminded of my alone-ness throughout the meal (haha I'm being super dramatic, really not a big deal). Zoom in real close to the mirror and you can see me!
TRAVEL: Very hilly. Many stairs. Wasn't expecting it, but loved the views. SACRÉ-COUER: Very beautiful church, inside and out. Walking inside the church was peaceful, but also chilling? Not sure how to explain. It was also really cool to see people outside drinking and talking together while admiring the view. MONTMARTRE: Nice area to walk through. Didn't explore much, but did appreciate it. Hilly and rocky indeed. ~fin! Au revoir!
